Daybreak Technologies
Daybreak Technologies operates a 5000-square-foot research and development laboratory designed to support the development of advanced UV and EB curable coatings and adhesives. The lab includes a narrow web flexo/rotary screen combination press to test materials under realistic production conditions. It has both UV and EB curing capabilities. Development is supported by advanced analytical, physical property and accelerated aging testing. This includes migration testing to confirm materials are suitable for food and pharmaceutical packaging applications. Daybreak Technologies develops, manufactures, supports and services advanced UV/EB curable coatings and adhesives for printing and packaging as well as industrial applications. Daybreak is part of the Polytex group of companies.
EQuIPD
Education, Quality Improvement and Professional Development (“EQuIPD” is a technical assistance organization that provides support and advice to early care and education programs in Guilford County to help increase child care quality. The organization is funded by the Partnership for Children of Guilford County and implemented through UNC Greensboro. The organization’s mission is to nurture and empower early care and education professionals & programs with tools to support and sustain success. It works closely with individuals in child care programs to help them problem-solve classroom issues such as room arrangement, teacher-child interactions, and curriculum development. EQuIPD also assists in enhancing the work environment for staff and provide professional development planning and training.

NC A&T State University – Autonomous Vehicle Laboratory and Rural Test Track
NC A&T researchers are developing technologies for connecting disconnected communities through autonomous shuttles. Using a two mile test track at Gateway, researchers are designing these shuttles to provide better transportation choices in rural areas as well as connecting places that have little to no access to public transportation. These small shuttles are also economic solutions for areas with low transportation demand for which traditional mass transportation does not work.

RS Therapeutics Inc. formulated FoamaDerm™, a propellant-free foam, which is designed for topical delivery of diclofenac sodium. FoamaDerm™ is a water based formulation which significantly enhances the effectiveness of topical diclofenac.

The UNCG Fibromyalgia Program
The UNCG fibromyalgia service and research program is led by Dr. William Karper, Associate Professor and full Graduate Faculty Member in the Department of Kinesiology. This program provides an exercise program for individuals with fibromyalgia syndrome, studies the effects of exercise on the physical and psychological symptoms, and assesses the functional capacity related to this rheumatologic disorder.
The UNCG Plant & Pollinator Center
The UNCG Plant & Pollinator Center (PPC) is a center for integrated research, student training, and public education/community engagement. Basic and applied sciences among closely collaborating scientists focusing on both plants and pollinators help us understand the connections in nature that underpin human health and wellness, the foods we eat, and environment in which we live. Research at the PPC addresses global issues of food security, growing an agricultural economy, and environmental sustainability. Impacts of research and education at the PPC center are local, regional, statewide and worldwide.
The UNCG SERVE Center
SERVE is a University-wide Center at UNC Greensboro that provides high quality research, evaluation, and customized support to drive positive educational outcomes for all learners. It engages collaboratively with clients to large scale experimental studies to small scale qualitative work on topics ranging from early childhood to high school reform. Projects include evaluations for states, districts, schools, and organizations. SERVE also publishes syntheses of research and specializes in making complex topics accessible.

Core Technology Molding Corporation
Core Technology Molding provides plastic injection molding, engineering, decoration, and assembly for the biological, pharmaceutical and medical device markets. Core Technology has a certified Class 10,000 (ISO 7) and Class 1,000 (ISO 6) Clean Room.
DP Merritt Agricultural Formulations
DP Merritt Agricultural Formulations provides experience with seed chemical formulations, foliar sprays for row crops, granules, WDG’S, and experience developing herbicide, fungicide, insecticide, and nutrient formulas. The company has some experience with biologicals.
Gateway Materials Test Center
Gateway Materials Test Center (GMTC) was created in response to local industry requests for a test facility that could perform composite and textile testing in close proximity. They wanted quick turnaround time and easy access for witnessed tests. Located in Research Facility One at Gateway South in Greensboro, NC, the GMTC is just minutes from the Piedmont Triad Airport, a FedEx hub. GMTC is a program of the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering of North Carolina A&T State University and University of North Carolina Greensboro (JSNN) and administered by Gateway Research Park. GMTC offers a wide range of materials testing, specializing in composites. GMTC is ISO 17025 accredited.
Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering
The Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (“JSNN”) is an academic collaboration between NC A&T State University and the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Both universities are classified by the Carnegie Foundation as “research universities with high research activity.” The JSNN builds on the strengths of the two universities in basic sciences and engineering to offer innovative, cross-disciplinary graduate programs that train scientists in the emerging areas of nanoscience and nanoengineering.

NC A&T State University – Division of Strategic Partnerships and Economic Development (SPED)
The Division of Strategic Partnerships and Economic Development serves as the North Carolina A&T’s centralized hub that facilitates innovative partnerships and collaborative opportunities at every level. U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service
Two laboratories of the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service are located at Gateway South. These labs develop innovative conservation technology and increase the effectiveness of existing technologies to help NRCS offices nationwide. NRCS professionals help landowners and communities to use conservation practices effectively and manage their natural resources wisely.
USDA NRCS East National Technology Support Center (ENTSC)
The East National Technology Support Center provides technology transfer and assistance to address a broad range of natural resource concerns and focuses on animal waste utilization, soil health, and also co-leads the USDA NE and SE Regional Climate Hubs to deliver information to farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners to help them adapt to climate change and weather variability. The ENTSC is responsible for acquiring and/or developing science-based technology for manure management, plants, and soil health and sustainability; developing new and refining existing technologies; and training USDA field employees to help landowners make the best use of their natural resources.
USDA NRCS East Remote Sensing Lab (ERSL)
The USDA’s East Remote Sensing Lab provides technical direction for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service’s National Resources Inventory (NRI) data collection activities. The NRI provides comprehensive and statistically reliable information on various natural resource conditions and trends on non-federal lands. The ERSL at Gateway serves the Caribbean Area and 24 states.
