Core Tech Responds to High Demand for Face Shields

GREENSBORO, NC – July 16, 2020 – Core Technology Molding Corporation, providing integrated innovative plastic solutions to businesses worldwide, is producing high quality face shields to meet the burgeoning needs for personal protective equipment, especially in the medical and manufacturing sectors. While continuing to work with ongoing customers in addition to those for face shields, the company hired ten new full-time employees and has its production lines going 24/7.

Geoff Foster, Core Technology CEO, said, “We’ve already produced half a million face shields, with many going to those in the medical and dental practices because of the high-quality standards we can meet with our Medical Clean Room.” Core Tech has a certified Class 10,000 ISO 7 and Class 1,000 ISO 6 Clean Room to provide medical grade products and assemblies for vaccine delivery systems, plunger rods for syringes, cornea transplant chambers and other medical uses. Core Technology will be producing 100,000,000 plunger rods annually for Merck.

Some of Core Tech’s customers for face shields include the School of Dentistry at UNC-Chapel Hill, the U.S. Post Office, and universities like the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, Howard University and East Carolina University, which had the shields done in the university’s colors. Core Tech also can personalize the face shields with a company’s name, logo or whatever they want it to say.

For its corporate customers, Core Technology continues to manufacture highly engineered plastic products that have tight tolerances, require sophisticated tool designs and mandate efficient manufacturing like two-shot injection molding.
